    Off topic OT: I'm published.

Well, I've not posted here in a while as I've slimmed down my collection as I chase a grail (Stowa Airman Original) and no longer have a single G. I'm pretty sure that was a mistake, and I'll try to rectify it soon (I think a 5600, probably).

Anyway, I got some good news today and just had to share. A paper I had submitted for publication has been accepted. I'm a published academic! This is a nice load off my shoulders and has given me that extra jolt I need to finish my dissertation. Anyway, thanks for reading! I'm pretty stoked!

great m8 - congratulations!!! Just finished my studies too ('magister artium' - similar to a master but not quite the same) and will start my master this fall (religious studies). So I can pretty much guess how you must feel right now. Maybe I'll strive for becoming a PhD one day too but I already spent way to much time at university.

    Greetings, Sedi

Congrats Statius and Sedi! It has been a long time ago I have studied, but I had a great time. I didn't get published though (faster and automated technique for the Thrombotest in a centrifugal analyzer).

    Cheers,

Thanks! I'm actually in the homestretch, and will be defending sometime in September, it looks. I'm getting so drunk when I'm finally done (pass or fail).

    Congratulations!

You've been wanting that Stowa for a while, I think.
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

Yes. I kick myself every now and then for turning down your offer, but I'll be patient and wait for the FO serial. I ordered it, but it won't be ready til early 2010 probably. In the mean time, I only have 2 watches now! A timex for running, and an old Citizen promaster. It feels really weird not having any real choices anymore. It used to be "Is this a Giez day or a Muddie?, or a 5600, or G-lide?"

If this paper helps me get a real job, then maybe I'll start buying up again!
