Off topic OT: My "other" collection of tough watches. As tough as Gs???

So without realizing I was doing it, I suddenly find myself with a small collection (3) of Victorinox Inox Dive watches! It began with the blue early in 2018, then I got the titanium grey last October, and now just today, the yellow SS arrived. I got the blue one off of Ebay for a good price. The other two I got on sale from ADs, so got the full 3-yr manufacturer's warranty on each.

According to Victorinox, the INOX watches have passed a battery of 130 strength tests. Some of the more interesting tests that a Victorinox INOX watch is capable of passing include:
    • exposure to a sulfuric and nitric acid solution
    • a fall of 10m onto a concrete surface (10m drop sounds familiar, eh??)
    • exposure to a flame for more than one minute
    • being driven over by a tank weighing up to 64 tons
    • two hours in a washing machine at 90 deg Celcius with full spin cycle

These watches are nice looking, well made, feel very solid, and are very comfortable on the wrist. Plus, although you can't really see this in my pics, they have two-color lume. Greenish lume on the hour hand and hour markers, and blue lume on the minute hand and lump pip. Kind of a neat look in-person. They do have uni-directional rotating bezels.

I gotta say, I really like the yellow dial on this new one that just arrived! It's a keeper. A little worried how long the strap will look pristine. May get a spare. The rubber straps are fairly thick - they seem like quality straps.

The case is about 46mm from 10-4, 49.5mm from 9-3 at the widest point (including crown), and about 14mm thick.

Here are a few photos. No sun today, but I'll add a few more of this yellow dial when we have a sunny day.

I already expressed my awe in the WRUW but forgot to congratulate you. Victorinox is serious about quality, so they should meet the toughness criteria and continue to serve you for long years. Wear them in good health!

Congrats, T4P! I've had nothing but positive experiences with this brand in the past. Their divers in particular feel like they are carved out of solid hunks of steel. I'm loving that titanium grey one in particular.

Thanks man! Yes their watch cases feel very solid and extremely well made. Nice combo of brushing and polishing of surfaces too.

Already several of you have said you like that titanium grey one. I have to admit, it is very cool!! The hour markers have this greenish tint to them under normal light, as you can see in the pic. But the cool grey color all around makes it quite the stealthy model. (The yellow obviously is the opposite of stealthy! ) I quite like that they have a name for toughness too.

The INOX are the only Victorinox watches I have or have ever had, but I like them a lot. These divers are very cool!

Thanks Miklos! Well I have a number of their Swiss Army knives too, and I like those very much. The knives will pair well with the watches.

I know you said you were looking at the INOX watches too. I would strongly urge you to see one of these in person. I don't think photos do any of them justice. I very much recommend them as an alternative to Gs (for those non-G days ).

Very sweet, buying Casio's can get expensive, I can't even THINK about other brands, but man, those ARE sweet looking

Scurffa has just released a yellow 300m quartz that is getting good reviews on the dive forum and a little smaller.
