OT and OB: need some advice on an oddity

off topic and off brand lol
found this doing a bit of a clean out, got given it by a friend who worked at the bank but never used it. battery has since died and i have no idea how to open it. i could go all caveman on it but dont really want to mess up the nice finish. i had a look online but the closest i could find are a couple service centers (in the UK) that do it for you.
i could also ask in another forum but id rather hear from ppl i know and respect ;)

im guessing its some kind of cog key arrangement, never seen anything like it

.....and to keep things so that they arent too far off the reserve, heres an unrelated baby g with a pink backlight :p

As an ex Bank of Scotland staffer, I would always recommend careful and ethical disposal of anything with a Royal Bank of Scotland logo.

If you’d been given this on the other hand...

Seriously though, Links of London is, as you probably already know a quality brand (just like Cross) and this would be worth rescuing. It may be that the six holes/slots in the back are actually sound holes for an alarm. Hence the red hand on the dial.

Found this on Ebay UK The seller may be able to provide you info on battery swap as he has states, “new battery just fitted”

    And this in Canada

It’s hard to tell from the photos but could it just be a snap back?

Here’s Links of London’s customer care e-mail address [email protected]

Maybe best to contact them directly.

Happen if I had a watch that looked as nice as that I’d do as Ken suggests.

Don't know if it's just me but I don't see any images in your post?

Maybe it's an issue with my work internet then? Currently on Chrome, Windows 10. No problems with other pics in other threads though. I can't see them on Tapatalk for Android either, just the "broken" icon?

    Weird!
