Question PAG80 -- Is the PAG-80 a good gift for my son?

We just went out for some additional shopping today for more gifts for my son. We already got plenty for him earlier this month, but we decided to go looking today.

I bought him the Casio PAG80 today. Do you know if it is a good gift for a teenage boy (15 years old)?

Hi joe - if I was a 15 year-old boy I would be delighted to get the PAG-80!

As you probably know, it's not the latest model in that line, but it was one of the very best until the most recent (and much more expensive ) models came along.

Rest easy, you've bought a great gift!
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

I think it's an amazing gift. As tribe says, it's not the latest model, but it's tried and tested and reported to be very tough, and likely more accurate in some areas than some of the more recent models. I'm not passing that off as a fact, but people here like to test watches, and that's what these test results indicated.

I have one myself, and personally think it's the best looking Protrek, and it's very well built. I'd love to have got one as a gift at 15, in fact I'd love to get another one now at 43.

    No worries with this model...

...I think it's a classic pathfinder which has the compass overlay that the newer models don't have. Reportedly quite accurate unlike the PAW1300 in comparison. Quite big on the wrist, but teenagers will probably like that.

How big are his wrists? That is a very large watch (but also a very good one) At 15, I also would have loved to have one of those.

Well, he does have kind of small wrists. I guess I wasn't really thinking about that until now. They are normal sized wrists for a 15 year old I think.

It will probably seem big at first, but it's surprising how fast you get used to big watches. When I first got some of my G-Shocks I actually laughed at the size (much bigger than anything I'd worn before), but now they just seem normal.

Ain't that the truth.....I think of my Monster
as pretty puny by now, almost the smallest in my

Thanks for the replies everyone. He really likes it and hasn't taken it off his wrist since he opened it!
