I, as a matter of personal policy, immediately DELETE any emails from Ebay or Paypal in my email box. I don't read them. Nothing, except DELETE.

Same goes for all the other type of messages:
V-ia-gra, P-eenis, Moart-gage, 3rd World-Bank, "I am the ex-president of the United States and have come upon a basketful of money I wish to launder and I request your help in receiving $100,000,000 on your personal bank account because you are such a nice person etc etc".....

Yes, never click the link in an Email! The give away is HTTP:// when it should be HTTPS:// any IP as part of the address should also be a clue...

    Ha Ha,

I read a nice article about spam-filters lately. They seem to effect of people mentioning Scher.....se (Dutch city) in their mail. There were some problems with an excursion to a fairy park for little kids too. a lot of them didn't get the invitation. In Dutch an excursion to a fairy park is: Sprookjesbosexcursie... :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

But return to the subject, this is actually very old news. I get those mails for a real long time. The last time I was shocked it was in my private mail, telling my paiment was cancelled, right after I had paid. Still I found out soon it was a spoof. When these spoofs look almost too real I sent them to [email protected] .com, but 99 out of 100 times it goes, with hundreds of Japanese and Korean spam in the waste bin folder directly...

    Cheers,

    Sjors
There are only 10 kind of people. Those who understand binary and those who don't.

    That's a wise choice Pabl>

I wish I could do the same but unfortunately people pay for watches and other goodies often so I always have to check addresses, etc.

The other Spam seems to seems to be caught by the Junk mail filter very well.

I have two HOTMAIL accounts, two G-Mail, One Aussie ISP account, and one YAHOO Japan account. I have them all connected to my OUTLOOK Express..

HOTMAIL seems to attract the majority of spam, whilst the YAHOO Japan one attracts a hell of a lot of advertising from Japanese online sites.

The paid ISP email is free, and the G-Mail gets a little spamB-)

    Hi Sjors -

It's old news for me also, but you have to remember that many new members are quite young and in-experienced so it's always good for them to knowIt's very easy for someone to be caught out by these scams.

Why do you get so many Japanese and Korean email's:-S

....oops... didn't think of that. Bummer! Of course you have to ensure you get your head together enought to obtain adequate protective "schemes"...
(sung to the tune of "I never promised you a rose garden" ... is that Lynn Andersen?)
    Greetings from nice-weather Belgium, OZZIE.
