Unhappy Please help! What battery to use on a dw-2000

Hi Guys, I was able to locate a rare Casio classic DW-2000. Inside it has the module 242. The old battery inside is a rechargeable 920R. Anyone know, what current battery I might be able to use safely? Please help if you can. Much, Much appreciated

Maybe a CTL920? You'd need to know the capacity and voltage however. Voltage is the more important of the two. If the capacity is higher it just takes longer to charge which should be no problem. If the voltage isn't right it might damage the module.
edit: the CTL920 has a voltage of 2.4 volt. Now all you need to do is find out the voltage of the 920R.

    Greetings, Sedi

Thanks Sedi, I think the voltage for the 920R was 1.5v. Is CTL920 a battery or a capacitor? I need a rechargeable battery 1.5v and size is 9.5mm x 2 mm. I was hoping someone might have had this issue rectified and would care to shed some light...

I found this MT920 which is very close to the specs for 920R. Anybody used that before?

I think the CTL920 is a battery but it looks like the voltage is too different. Sorry, can't help you. I hope there are others who might know. Maybe you could also ask someone at Casio directly?

I'm very interested to know if a suitable replacement is ever located. I have one of these, albeit in very used shape, but would love to start it up again.

I have some good news. I was able to track down someone who has a working DW-2000 (module 242) and he has a SR920W installed. Renata makes this as the model 370. Keep in mind that this is not a rechargeable cell, so it'll last somewhere between 3-5 years. Also, you would be best off not exposing the watch to much sunlight, or make an internal modification to block the solar cell connectivity (tape over one of the solar cell contacts).

The Panasonic MT920 is supposed to work as well, but is much more expensive (more than 10x the Renata).

Note that there is also a SR920SW, which also goes by the model number 371. These work as well.
