Possible causes of ABX-53 (module 1326) analog hands not moving?

I’m looking at buying an ABX-53 (“twincept” with analog hands behind the LCD). The seller says the digital functions all work perfectly, but the hands are stuck at 12.

Could this be caused by a low battery? Incorrect battery change procedure? (Missing the “AC reset” step?)

I’m trying to assess my odds of getting the analog hands working again. These watches are ridiculously cool, but I can’t get the analog to work, I won’t wear it, and I should just look for the next chance at one.

It could be mechanical failure too.
    It should be special!

That’s what I’m afraid of. At that point, I imagine it would be a trip to the watchmaker, and I’m not sure what they would charge, or whether they would be able to work on one of these at all.

    Mechanical failure most likely

There is only one battery powering the watch. If the battery were that low to stop the hands then the digital would stop also.

I had one of these twincept watches and the analog took a dump. It required a new module.

On mine the module took a dump due to defect

However a lot of these died due to the battery changer nicking the coil that is next to the battery port and poof the analog is dead. The digital has its innards safely tucked away.

If it was me I would pass and look for a working one

Casio made a crap ton of twincepters
