Possible to repair The G shock Atomic clock bomb? Or is it the end?

Hi, I was wandering if anyone has the same problem as me, the digital hour digit some are missing so I can't tell if it is 6 or 8 hour. I have tried changing to new battery but without luck. Does it mean it has to end up a natural death? The alarm is really good for this bomb clock, such a pity!

    Before the hiccup:

Open it up and cut the Red wire. All will be good!

You know when you first posted without the picture, I thought it's just a troll post. Then I see your picture, I was like what the heck is that! After some research I realized it's actually an authentic Casio product. But most pictures I saw are for the black version.

wouldn't it be better to show a pic AFTER the problem started.

I tried to buy one of these a number of years ago, this exact version, actually on ebay, but the seller claimed it was "lost" or broken by his cat.....a very cool piece.

There are posts about fixing missing LCD segments.
It usually involves removing the LCD display, cleaning and fiddling around with the conductive rubber pads until all connections are made.
Though there is no guarantee of success
