The postman just ringed the bell....

....and brought a new G member to my humble collection: the G-800BD-1V

I've been longing for this quite some time, but always hestitated to order, because it is a non-solar model (I prefer solar models a lot more). but a few weeks ago I saw this model available in germany from a watch dealer and so I couldn't resist any longer....

I really like the greenish display, its the first one I have ever seen in the flesh, looks pretty cool and brings to the watch a "high-stealth-factor" I think. display and digists are of outstanding clarity, I would say the best I have seen so far and most definetely the best in my collection. the module is no. 3031 thats the same used in the G-9000 mudman but is has the "regular" buttons and case of the GW-800 series which I like a lot better than the stiff
    buttons on the mudman.

okay here are some pics, enjoy:

by the way: can anyone help me to figure out how to remove the caseback on that model? I tried it on my GW-810BXD before but failed because the caseback screws are covered by those plastic things and they won't come off for the life of me. I'm just curious if I will ever have to change the battery or to regulate gain or loss, how to manage that.

HOLGER! Way to go man... beautiful watch

I don't have that particular model, but I'm sure others will tell ya, when you remove the band, those plastic pieces will come right off.

    hi gaiwan,

thanks for your nice comment. trouble with that watch (and the GW-800 series) is, I simply don't know ho to get the bracelet off either. there are no screws or something similar, its really a mystery to me....

I love it Congrats! It really makes me feel sorry that the one I ordered was lost in the post, or stolen. I just bought something else instead. Maybe I'll get one someday.
    Enjoy,

Excellent watch! I have the reverse-LCD model, and it gets some wrist time! Great features, and easier buttons than the Mudman. The resin case keeps it lighter than most metal G's too.

    Stuck in landlocked Atlanta.
