    Which protrek/pathfinders have sapphire crystals?

"Light enters the watch through the sapphire crystal and dial, and hits a solar cell beneath the dial" (per casio's pathfinder page http://pathfinder.casio.com/features/ but not in any specific model's specs). I remember something about differnent models having sapphire or not depending on which market variation they were, so I'm certain it's not all of them.

Anyways, doesn't matter to some, but since I've had problems with scratches on mineral crystals when they are not inset deeply enough I'm just curious as to which models will have this feature.

    THanks.

PRW-1500YTJ has one not sure about others though. Maybe the PRW-1100YT also?

Yeah those are the only ones I've heard of too. When I saw it listed as a general description on casio's pathfinder page, I just figured more might have it. I see sapphire listed in retailers product descriptions sometimes- which mean nothing (I.E. this old amazon listing for the prg40 is obviously an error). Would be nice though.

Amazon also puts that sapphire solar description in their spw1000 specs (along with a few others, then says mineral at the top). http://www.amazon.com/Casio-Pathfind...035172&sr=1-12

Just get yourself some invisible shields for your watches...

...a lot cheaper than trying to get one of the sapphire models (which look pretty cool I admit).

Have you used these? Are they specific for each model or is it something that can be cut and sized for various watches?

I haven't use this brand, but have used something similar for another application. If they're as good or better than what I've used, then they certainly do the job. The main issue is getting them on without any dust getting in between the membrane and glass.

You should be able to cut them to size with a sharp modelling knife. One of their models might also fit the model you have too. They should put the diameters on their site, but I guess you can ask.

The site certainly seems to have products for specific Casio models.

Right but not a lot of them. I think I own only one of the models they show and it isn't in my regular wear rotation.

    hi,

I check the weblink and there is no shield sized for prg90. the screen size of prg90 is it the same as prg80?

You'd have to ask an owner because Casio doesn't release this kind of detail about their watches alas. Wouldn't surprise me if these sheild models cover many more watch models than indicated...

...just have to do some homework on sizing.
