Prove how tough a G-Shock really needs to be:

Sitting in Houston, TX waiting for Hurricane Harvey to do his thing, and I got to wondering...

How tough does a G Shock really need to be?

I feel that your wrist or forearm would have to be severely injured in order to justify the impact resistance of the watch.

Post your battle stories and battle scar photos here to prove how tough your G Shock has had to be!

My gw7900 hasn't seen much action, but hopefully I can share a cool story with battle scar photos eventually.

It would be interesting to strap a G to a tree or something and let it live through the hurricane.

But all watch crap aside, be safe down there! Looks like it may get pretty bad.

I believe those who have served in the military would have some stories to tell. It would be interesting to see how a G-Shock may look like after it's gone through an actual battle field.

Re: Prove how tough a G-Shock really needs to be:

I remember when I got my G-9000 Mudman when I was 14 years old, convinced that it was indestructible after watching all torture test videos online and proudly boasting to my friend. One of them, was a hockey player, and I don't think I'd need to explain what happened next. 3rd hit and the module went dead. Opened the case back and the battery and everything was firmly attached. Sent back my week old Mudman under warranty and it came back a month later fixed. I later found out that my stress test also broke one of the plastic lugs attached to the case, but does not affect the usability of the watch or strap in any way.

So yeah TLDR, it took 3 hits with a hockey stick and died, also note that it was done indoors, so whack with stick, watch bounced at the wall before coming to a halt.

That Mudman served me well till 2011 when the screen slowly faded throughout it's life and became extremely hard to read(replaced the battery still the same) and was replaced by the G-9200 Riseman.

I usually wear my GA100 rock climbing. Even with the occasional fall it just looks a little scuffed
