    PRW-3100 with sapphire crystal?

I found an obscure reference on some website that Casio makes a Japanese only PRW-3100 with a sapphire crystal. Is this a fact, or is it an urban myth like the Mothman or Bigfoot?

PRW-3100FC-1JF is a JDM model with sapphire crystal. It also has an STN LCD for a nice double-whammy.

It was Grandfather's and when Father gave it to me he said I give you the mausoleum of all hope and desire.... I give it to you not that you may remember time, but that you might forget it now and then for a moment and not spend all your breath trying to conquer it."

Just note that even if the PRW-3100FC-1JF has the sapphire crystal, it's got a hard resin bracelet which pushed me away because of the visible injection seams.

The one I saw in person had a pretty bad one. The ones in the pic above (not mine) looks better in comparison.

Another one with a sapphire crystal is the PRW-S3100-1 which has both the sapphire glass and a carbon fibre insert resin band like the JDM Rangeman. The others have the normal resin band like in most G-Shocks and Pro Treks except for the now discontinued PRW-3100T-7 which had a titanium bracelet.

Those "seams" are not even going to be visible when you're wearing the watch. That's one of the best "FC" bracelets that Casio makes. It has a slide-lock adjustment mechanism in the clasp that can be used without tools for micro-adjustments to the fit of the bracelet. The bracelet has a very secure closure system, is extremely comfortable on the wrist, and looks great, IMO.

The PRW-3100YT also has a sapphire crystal. I love the blue tint but the price is too much.

I'm a stickler for details in cases like this (or should I say bracelets?). The only one I saw in person when I went out to buy a 3100 had a noticeably bad one to me, so I stuck with the PRW-3100T-7 beside it. I was initially 50:50 on getting one of either anyway.

I'm pretty sure I just got unlucky with the one I saw.

It's their "Blue Moment" series in reference to the eponymous natural phenomenon. Materials-wise, the reason why it's more expensive is because it has both a sapphire crystal and a black IP titanium bracelet.

Yes, I have a "blue moment" 3500 with sapphire glass and black Ti and love it. Stealthy with a bit of pop.
