Angry PRW-60 Field Composite band not up to par

I was so excited to get my PRW-60FC-1AJf from across the pond last weekend and Got it sized Monday and Today is Thursday and the metal clasp with PVD coating is already scratched on day #2. I don't know what PVD stands for, but I know its about as tough as krylon to have scratched already. I can only hope the composite material can hold up to my pocket and my desk better then this PVD coated clasp. If you extrapolate through the end of the year at this rate there wont be any coating left. I may Cerekote this band in graphite black. Has anyone tried this before?

.... cant believe its already scratched....

few threads on here about the diff. coatings, pvd is one of the lowest for wear protection. if you want scratch resistance, you need to pony up for something with DLC or the cheap alternative is to put a plastic film over the clasp. personally, i would just buy a spare, live worry free wearing that one as is till its ratty then swap the new one over in a couple years.

True, my PRW-1500 titanium band lasted almost a decade and certainly has the wear to show it, but 2 days....

DLC with casio looks like it becomes the $1300 PRX-8000YT
