    Question/Help : Casio GW 3500

    Hi all,

Hopefully this is in the correct forum as I have never posted before but have lurked for a bit, so excuse me if I make any mistakes. I just purchased a casio GW 3500 and I am having an issue. Every time the analog time reaches five minutes until the top of the hour, it will reset itself automatically for 20 minutes ahead, so it will read (for example) 2:15 instead of the correct 1:55. It will do this every hour: when I woke up today it was 5 or so hours off of the correct time. The digital time always remains correct.

I called the Casio tech support and that was quite a waste of time as they had me reset the time and basically told me to return it. I feel like some setting is off somewhere and is causing this issue since it is so consistent in its occurrence.

    Thanks for any insight,
    George

If it's new, just return it. It will save you a ton of grief.
    Cheers!

It isn't new, I bought it off of ebay, was hoping to try to save a few dollars but it's kind of come back to bite me in the butt.

I can still most likely return it if needed but was hoping that there might be something that I'm missing, some type of setting that I could work with that would get the minute hand to stop resetting itself forward every hour.

This is my first g-shock so I'm still somewhat overwhelmed with all of the settings and options, though I do really like the watch (except for that one problem).

    Thanks

Seems there is a way if you're prepared to open it up...

If not, you will have to contact the seller.
    Good luck.

I believe returning it is your best bet. I have had a couple of 3500s and that type of behavior is not a setting issue, as far as I know.
    Current:
    Casio
GW-3000M-4AER, PRG-60T; Citizen Navihawk A-T, E820, AS8009-53E, Wingman VI, 2100, BY0080-65E Blue Impulse, PMV65-2271 Promaster Sky, Blue Angels Navihawk; Steinhart Racetimer
    Soon:
MTM Air Stryk PVD; Casio GW-9400-3ER Rangeman
    One day:
    Zenith 02.0240.410 Chronomaster ; Sinn 6026
    Good luck:

I'm not sure that I would be completely comfortable opening the watch up at this time. I just sent a message to the seller about getting a refund/return, so hopefully that works out and I will just buy a new one.

Thanks everyone for the help, I really appreciate it.

    Hi John,

I did contact tech support but they were unable to help resolve the issue, they stated that I should just return it. MCZK posted a link above which is pretty much exactly the issue that I am facing where the automatic adjustment for the analog timing seems to be off about 20 minutes.

    Thanks
