    Question Questions on "new" DW5600E

    Hey guys,
Just got a DW5600E about an hour ago and have some ??? somebody may be able to answer.
It has the # 1565 on the back plate (which has 4 screws to remove), says Made in Malaysia and had the year indicating '96 on the screen face. Could this watch have been produced in '96 and still functioning correctly in '06?
It is brand new and none of the screws look as though they've been touched let alone removed !
    Thanks.

    Hi Spartan,

I think your 5600E is brand new. The DW-5600E was indeed released first in June 1996, so that's why a new DW-5600E (or a fresh batterie) gives that year in the display. You have to set it too 2006, because the automatic calender autoaticly combines a weekday at a date.

Bulk G-Shock's are often made in other East Asian countries than Japan. Nothing wrong with that.

    Cheers,

    Sjors

You are quite correct, Sir. My typing error. It is 1545.
The year '96 was on the digital display on the watch face. It appeared as I pressed the adjust button displacing the day display.
Brother, if I knew how to download a digital pic to this forum, I'd do it.
Now that I'm on a forum I just might need to learn how to do this...soon.
    Thanks.

    Thank you my friend.

It's great to be a part of this forum and begin to learn more about the G Shocks.

    Hi Spartan,

In fact I had to search too, but I knew the article "Unbreakable" by Calos Perez helped me a lot.

For uploading pictures it's best to use an on-line album. I use Photobucket. This album has already the codes for different applications ready for copy. This forum uses the [IMG] code, which is used frequently in forums. For best views use a maximum width of about 850 - 900 px and a maximum height of about 700 px. Else you get those nice Ozz screw shots :-D ...

    Cheers,

    Sjors

the auto calendar is programmed to year 2039 i believe
