This is my watch, this is a google image not my exact watch but you get the idea.. The paint was chipping off the G on the backlight button so I took some acitone (a little too much) to it and it really screwed up the button, I need to replace it. I found one on ebay, but I need to know how to remove this button! Help please! Cant find anything on the net or youtube.

Need to remove the "G" button at six 0 clock

    Thank you!

Yes, acetone dissolves the plastic buttons. I learned that the hard way as well. It is safe for the resin, but not the plastic light buttons. The button is held on by an E-clip inside the watch. Unscrew the caseback, remove the module, and you should see it. Get it off by pushing on the tail ends of the E-clip with tweezers or something. Be careful, it might go flying off a few feet away when it come off. The you can pull the button out. Reinstallation is the reverse process.

    Re: Quick Help please!!!

I've never worked on this specific model, but most G-Shocks use tiny E-clips to hold the buttons. You'll need to remove the case back, remove the module, remove the e-clip, swap the button, and reassemble. Beware, without precision tools, those e-clips can be a real nightmare. They tend to fly across the room and get lost, and are just about microscopic in size. You might want to acquire the parts and take it to a jeweler for repair, unless you're very brave and used to working with very small objects.

Sounds good... Thanks guys! Is there any better place to get this button than eBay? There is only a grey one on eBay and I wanted black! Called gshock direct and they are on backorder!

    Re: Quick Help please!!!

Somebody once advised to put the watch in a clear plastic bag when removing the E-clip - this way it can't go flying. You can also put a towel over your head while working on it .

    Re: Quick Help please!!!

wouldnt it be easier and cheaper to just paint it? airbrush would be ideal but a couple light coats of enamel from a rattle can would work just as well. even a couple thin brush coats of model kit paint would have it looking like new in no time

    Re: Quick Help please!!!

    I ordered mine from Casio.

What I did for the e clips was put silicone grease on them to prevent them from flying off and stabilize when replacing.
