A quick question about G-Steel GST part numbers

Is there any difference between a GSTS100D-1A4 and a GSTW100D1A4JF besides the atomic time keeping? The "s" model is about $100 cheaper than the "w" model. I am a watch noob and don't particularly understand the need for atomic time keeping. Maybe I am ignorant?

I think you are not missing anything. The premium on atomic models (sometimes only sold in Japan) is quite startling given the value equation. The GWX-56 comes to mind as an extreme example.

if you are living in area covered by atomic clock signal and you are OCD about your watch to always show correct time then you need to have the feature.
otherwise get the normal version, and sync your clock just when you need to.
