    Rangebeast on K2

It was quite the news in Hungary a few days back that the world's second highest mountain, K2 was summited by Hungarian climbers for the first time in history. Moreover, it was done without the use of additional oxygen. See:

The expedition was sponsored by G Shock Hungary. The climbers used the GPR-B1000 to track their movements and it performed admirably. Sadly I could only find Hungarian-language articles on the topic, but in the photos you can see the climbers sporting Mudmasters and the two Rangemen that accompanied them to the summit. The guy on the right, sporting the black-band Rangeman is Szilárd Suhajda who reached the peak. The other guy, Dávid Klein, wearing the green Rangeman had to turn back due to health problems.

Dear Miklos, thank you for the photos and the information!

Thank god, that the expedition had success and no injuries! In my younger days I red a book from Reinhold Messner about his first alone climbing of the K2, a horrible and fascinating mountain.
