Rangeman keep backlight on while scrolling though modes ?

    Good day all !

Please tell me there is a way to have the Rangeman have the backlit ON while scrolling though the modes ? For some reason when the light is on, as soon as you cycle through the modes, the light goes off. On many other watches with a backlight, when the light is on, the moment you press mode, the light stays on ( like it's cycled again ).

If not, this is a major oversight on this otherwise fantastic watch.

Turn the sounds off and the light will stay on when you scroll through the modes.

Good to know. Does this apply to G-Shocks in general?

Also, would Auto EL be of any use in a situation like this?

It seems to apply to most Casio products if they have a "button mute" feature, including most G-Shocks and Pathfinder/Pro Treks!

Nice ! That did the trick ! Granted, the light only stays on for the 3 seconds then it goes off, it's better than having the light go off the moment you press the mode button to get onto another screen.

It's interesting, I could swear one of my older Casio's when I pressed the mode button ( and I hit the light button before, so the display is lit up ), every time I hit the mode button, the light count down would start over, so in other words, I could scroll through the entire menu of modes, and the light would stay on as long as I hit the mode button. Strange that this watch cannot do that.

Are you certain that the older watch was a Casio? Apparently quite a few Timex watches work that way, which makes them much more convenient to use in the dark.

Casio seems to err a little too much on the side of caution when it comes to their solar watches' battery use -- solar models' alarms "beep" for shorter durations than "normal battery" powered models, the "beeps" themselves seem to be quieter, and even the electroluminescent backlights don't seem to be quite as bright as some similar battery powered versions.
