    raysman's battery icon is blank

Just picked up a raysman, but the battery icon was blank. Tried to charge it by putting it under a lamp. Nothing happened after a few hours. Am I correct to assume that the battery is dead, and it will need a trip to the service center? BTW, does anyone know how much it is replace the battery in Canada?

I'd try using natural light on a sunny day. My guess is you'll see some some response pretty quickly that way. I doubt the batt. is dead since the recharable ones in the Raysmans are long lasting and should still be working well.

try to put it under the sun (wear it outside, don't just leave it under the sun for extended period of time O| )

    sun works the best

i don't think any solar cell is indistructable, so the cell *might* be dead

but let's try it under the sun first before anything else

If the screen is blank, it will require direct sunlight to reactivate the watch. Will take a few days to reach a full charge as it has a huge capacity!

Thanks. Will try. The good thing is the condition of the watch is perfect. I guess the seller kept it in the box, and never touched it. The sad part is the battery is dead.

The sun ought to do it. Just don't let it BAKE, as I almost lost a yellow Raysman :-X the other day, as I left it in my car to charge, when i worked. I came back and the LCD was black!

I gunned the AC in my car and it came back around.

    Close one!

Just a thought, wouldn't rapidly cooling the Raysman after it's been heated do more damage than just letting itself reach normal temperature? Heh.

Anyway, natural sunlight does the job, but as it's been said... don't leave it out to bake

I've left the raysman by the window for about a day now. The battery is alive again, (sort of). It shows a 2/3 filled battery when there is light. The battery would go blank again at night time. It is either the battery is not holding its charge, or the watch is set to go to sleep at night. Any thoughts? I don't know how to check the sleep option.

I still don't understand. When you say the battery icon goes blank at night, do you mean the whole display goes to sleep or just the battery icon is blank?

"Sleep" is displayed above the battery indicator.

On my Raysman, I have to manually set it to sleep mode (very cool feature btw :)

It took me 3 days of sunshine to fully charge mine, so keep going and keep the faith :)
