    RE: 25th anniversary G-shock frogman

Hello. i just purchased a 25th anniversary frogman. what puzzles me is that mine came in a black box rather than the white box. is there a difference? i was told by a local watch dealer that the black box one may be produced in malaysia. anyone care to shed some light on this! thank you!

The Dawn Black Frogman ships with three different cases depending on where you ordered it from. The Japanese version comes in a nice 25th Anniv. black rectangular trunk case with a clasp. The 25th Anniv. export version comes in a round white tin. And some sellers (like Amazon) sell it in a generic black cardboard G-Shock case to save money.

I think I've even seen a gold tin on eBay. That might have been the GG Frogman however. Am I correct in saying they are all made in Japan?

Wait so no one remembers seeing that gold tin on eBay? I know it was on one of the 25th but not sure which (DB, MB, GG or the soon to be released SUPERGREEN).

I don't think I've seen a gold tin for any of the 25th Anniversary ones. I've got Japanese and export versions of all the 25th ones and they all came in the black trunk or the white tin (except for Amazon). The 20th Anniversary one has more of a gold look though. I'd be curious in seeing the one you're thinking of.

so tt's to say...the black rectangular trunk one is only sold in Japan? whereas the white tin one was meant to be export goods? is the quality of the 2 watches the same?

Same products in the boxes. The carbon-fiber looking box with a clasp is Japan market only and the round tins are export market (everywhere else).

I guess it could have been the 20th anniversary but I'm not sure. If I see one on eBay again I'll point it out.
