ready for the dw-5000sl? here we go with pics...

after the watch was purchased already on 21.11. it took some time till i got it flight in by a friend from bangkok. now it turns out to be a gift from my my parents in law.

after dreaming already from the heavy stainless steel watch how my arm would hurt after a day in office, now i can hold it in real, and my first thought also was, this thing is heavy. feels much different from the dw-5600e.

    here are some pics:

    front

    side

    back

    on hand

    compared to dw-5600e, dw-5000sl, gw-m5600

three different backs! from top: dw-5600e, dw-5000sl, gw-m5600

now, back into the box, and under the christmas tree

...just kidding, this tank stays out of the box and has a new home on my wrist.

    Nice Gerry!

IMO the best 5000 re-release of the year (besides the team tough.)

Nice one mate! Serious old skool vibe from that SL. And nice "backside" btw...

    Nice collection!

I have a question/favor to ask. From what I've read the gwm5600 has a slimmer case. Do you have any side by side shots with the dw5600? In your opinion does the gwm feel slimmer/smaller? Reason I ask is that I'm wanting a "smaller" 5600 and the gwm seems to be smallest of the 5600s.

Thanks, and congrats on the 5000sl.

i asked that myself too. it seems like the gw-m5600 is slightly slimmer than the 5600e, but its not true. its because of the shape of the back (see my pics above) which is slimmer at the edge. i think they are the same size. but the gw-m5600 feels a bit smaller and and more "fragile" than the other 2.

to answer your question. i dont think there really is a recognisable "smaller" 5600. but for sure the spike lee is NOT for you in that case.

The GW-M5600 is marginally slimmer, as can be seen when fitting it with a 5600E face protector. We're talking tiny differences here, but it is noticeable.
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

    Hey Jabber... I own..

    GLX-5600
    GWM-5625
    And a 5025
    And a general 5600

The Glx-5600 is the slimmest I believe but it's glossy... it may not actually be slimmer but it wears slimmer for some reason.. The screwbacks are taller (obviously)

Oh and fonk, I ordered an SL yesterday from NYwatchstore... they look great!

Congrats on that one Gerry! Wear it in good health! One day I'm gonna gat a screwback Casio too - don't know which one though - I'm leaning more towards the Ocean Grey.
