Real Black Blue Eye 6900 custom

Having login problems can only log onto WUS from work for the time being..

My wire protectors finally came in from Seiya-san and now my 6900 real black blue eye is complete along with the strap adaptors and zulu strap

I thought I'd like the wire protectors more but it seemed better in concept. In real terms, they get in the way when you're trying to clean the glass . Oh well, can't win em' all.

    Wrist shot..

    Hi Loco -

That's cool you finally pulled it all togethr and sorry to hear the wire guard didn't turn out to your liking.

I've pulled mine off two models, a DW-5000 and DW-6600. Never liked em either as they do get in the way.

I think the idea originally came from the ladies BABY-G models.

    Hi Locomoco,

Good you can post again, though only on your work. Did you sent the problem to [email protected]?

Yep, it's not easy to clean the glass of a G-Shock with wire protectors. Maybe that's the reason why you find many DW-6630's without on eBay. I love the look of those protectors. I clean my dirty (covered with mud and sand I mean) G-Shock's under streaming water and then dry it with a dry pieve of tissue. It works pretty good for me.

Well, I'm off to work, so again 9 hours off line (since I got your problem the other way around...)

    Cheers,

    Sjors

The Real Black 6900 was the MI:2 watch, right?

    Hi Seamaster,

Actually the basic DW-6900-1V is caled the MI:2. In the movie they used a customized version with a home made Module (I think digitally enhanced).

...and all the G-SHOCK logos removed. I bet Casio were less than happy about that.

I think it has maybe to do with the altering of the module, so it doesn't look like the actual model anymore.

    Just a thought...

    Hi Sjors,

Yeah it's amazing how the new software WUS is using works differently depending on the computer. I can't log on at home but I can log on at work and right now, turns out it works on my friend's laptop! :-S WUS tech support sez they're working on the problem but I dunno when they'll be done.

What's worked for me with cleaning is using a q-tip to clean the hard to reach places. I hope it doesn't mar the glass surface, I dunno if q-tips are non-abrasive.
