    Really trivial question about 'syncing'!

In all the instruction manuals for atomic watches, it states:

Auto receive up to six* times a day (remaining auto receives canceled as soon as one is successful)
*5 times a day for the Chinese calibration signal

Now, why does China only warrant 5 attempts rather than the rest of the world's 6?

For some reason the Chinese radio station, BPC, takes a "break" from 0500 to 0800 local time. (Mainland Chinese subway systems also usually have a break period in the middle of the night.)

My theory: It seems Multiband 6 watches try to sync once per hour starting at midnight until they are successful, which would mean the sixth attempt at 5am in China would only begin as BPC stopped transmitting. Ergo, the watch is programmed to try only five times in China.

The 6th signal is secret info to North Korea.

Re: Really trivial question about 'syncing'!

The Watch still tries to get the 6th signal in China, but it can't because the signal does not exist during the time the watch is searching for it; ergo it is only possible to sync five times in China. If they ever stop the break in the signal, or change the break time to a time the watch is not searching, then it will sync six times like everywhere else.
....It should have worked....I used genuine Saskatchewan Seal Skin bindings....
