    Recommendations

    Greetings fellow G-Shock lovers/collectors/owners,

I've been surfing around this section lately as I'm about or planning to get my first G-Shock watch. Yes, you read it right. My first almighty tough watch.

Having said that, I don't have much experience in this line and hence, I thought it would be great to have you guys (and gals, if any) for some recommendations before I pull the trigger (buy).

So... here are my preferences / needs in a watch :-

Size : Somewhere between Giez and Classic models

    Colour : Black

Analog or Digital : Preferably ana-digital but wouldn't mind going for digital

    Band : Resin

Usage : Normal casual & sports

So, please feel free to recommend some decent ones and please go easy on my wallet. Hehe. :D

    Thanks...

p.s: If you need to know, I'm from Malaysia. :)

    Re: Recommendations

For ana-digi you might consider the G-100 (there is no atomic reception in Malaysia i guess, otherwise the AWG-100 is also fine)

There are many models in the classic size.

For all digital the G-9000 Mudman offers many color varieties and a lot of usefull functions while beeing smaller wearing.

The classics are also still there.
The DW-5600e for flat wearing and small footprint.

    The DW-6600/6900 for bulkier wearing.

Both also available in many colors and for a good price.

    Awesome... You guys rock!

@sameerb : Thanks for your suggestion. Currently, I'm looking at either this or G100-1BV. Any suggestions for digital ones? Something simple and nice...

    @BenL : Thanks!

@d2mac : Thanks for your detailed suggestion. Really appreciate it. Yeap, no Atomic tech in Malaysia. Actually, I'm still open to digital ones, no thanks to my fickle mind. Haha. Afterall, G-Shock still looks good in digital. Any recommendations? :D

@Mecha-Shock : Whoa... That looks good. But kinda big for me. What do you think about G9100-1. Or are they the same size? Hhmm...

Get the DW5600E-1V. It's an excellent watch.

The G-9100 has an average footprint but is bulkier then the Mudman.
So the G-9100 is somewhat like the DW-6900 in form factor.

What are you preferences in color or which functions you like to have?

Here is a size comparsion i made some months ago showing the DW-5600E, GA-100 and the DW-6600 (wrapped around a D-Cell Maglite):
