    Red Frog Confusion :):)

Would someone kindly explain, both with words and photos, the difference between the following 3 red frog iterations, and also in general, the difference between 8200 and 8201. Also, of the 3 below, please rank in rarity.

    Thanks much, Eric

    DW8201GF-4JF (Metallic Red??)
    DW8200NT-4JR (Metallic Red??)
    DW8200F-4JR (Millenium Red??)

order of rarity (Starting with rarest):

    NT-4JR
    F-4JR
GF-4JF (value is like the 8200 MIY frogman)

There is no difference between the 8200 and the 8201 module.

DW8201GF-4JF >this is the red metallic frogman. Value is soso...around a raw price of 26000Yen

DW8200F-4JR > This is the brother of the NT-4JR. Value now around 35000Yen.

DW8200NT-4JR> Has an open price from the start and price varies alot. Becareful as there is a reproduced that is called the NT2. The NT2 looks exactly the same as the NT model except for the ???/1000 on the caseback. Value of NT2 is much lower.

More information of the NT can be found here: https://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=27690

    Thank you Skyhook!!

Your post got me thinking about these variations!!

I do like the DW-8201GF-4JF, because of the blue/purple accents of some of the lettering (not sure if it's blue or purple - I'm slightly colorblind - either way it's very nice).

    Your variation is also stunning!!

    Hi Eric,

My advice would be to buy what you like. I am more into high end collector's model and the real black frogman or the RED NT will appeal more to me.

Just follow your heart and buy something because you like it.

    Have a good day.

    cheers~

Hahaha.. I love the REAL BLACK but the red doesn't do much for me.

Their was a time when I had them in Japan and Sjors always wanted one but never did scrap up enough cashB-)

In Japan it's a real influence on the rare models, but now I buy because I like and the REAL BLACK is an awesome looking model

I totally agree with you Sky
