Removing the strap from a GA100MC to replace battery

I'm no stranger to spring bars and nato straps and such. I put a nato on an F-91W but had to destroy the original strap on it (no big loss). When I look at my GA100MC I don't see any space in there to stick my spring bar tool which makes me think it's not the same procedure as I'm used to.

So, can anyone here give me a hint as to how go about removing the cloth strap? And if it is just a spring bar in there (just more hidden than normal) what size is the spring bar in case I might want to stick a standard nato on it. Thanks.

There is a 16mm spring bar under the cloth/leather loop.
You just have to squeese it a bit to release. :)

Squeeze what? Is that the same as saying stick my spring bar in there and push back one of the ends? I tried squeezing the actual plastic of the end of the strap with my fingers and it didn't compress at all.

    Thats exacly what i mean.

The leathery material is stiff and there might be an piece of slighly-shorter-then-the-lug-with metal tube inside the leather loop.
you just have to push them with the springbar tool to one side and then unlock the freed up springbar side from the lug.
