Just got this quite rare beauty today. Last owner took less care on it, bezel was brittle and finally broke when I tried to remove it.
Due to its age, I decide to perform a full overhaul to restore this watch as much as I could.
First with the blow up details:
Unfortunately, I lost one "saddle" clip when I tried to reattach to tip of the "Adjust" pushbutton.
Hence, I bought a brand new DW-5600E and use its bezel, band, one saddle clip and rubber O-ring on this DW-5000SP. Initially, I was trying to use all the pushbuttons of DW-5600E on this DW-5000SP. I gave up this thought when I found they are not appropriate (in terms of build quality & thickness, DW-5000SP buttons are of superior quality)
I used decent spectacle cloth to clean the body. Looks very clean with minimal scratches after brief cleaning.
Finally, I apply silicone-based grease to bezel screw holes, spring bar holes, pushbutton O-ring & spring, thread of screwback cover. This preventive measure is very important as it will certainly help to increase your watch life expectancy.
