The answer: 1) an unknowable number of variables in the signal propagation - beyond your control 2) the position and orientation you leave the watch in over night - within your control and will require simply experimenting over time

    two things you should check:

    1. have you set your homezone?
    2. have you set the sync function to "on".

yep ,if it syncs manually I would just check one thing first.
    Is the sync ON?

Correct if I'm wrong but I don't think that it's possible to manually synch if the homezone isn't set correctly.

My friends, the sync function is "auto" could that be the problem? it should be only in "on"?
I think the problem is where the watch is placed because i do manually outside and it syncs.

well, actually it shouldn't make a difference, but on the other hand it can't hurt setting it to "on".

I think the problem is where the watch is placed because i do manually outside and it syncs.
try to leave the watch outside over night, where you did the manual sync if possible. make sure the watch is facing north to north-east. it will probably try to catch the uk transmitter signal (same time zone) but it might also will go for the german transmitter.
