    Riseman sensor sticker

Couple of questions for the Riseman pro's. Does the sticker serve and purpose or is it just eye candy? Is it covering anything? Has anyone ever tried any method of blacking it out? What about the light button, has anyone tried blacking that out?

    Just curios. Thanks!

    Re: Riseman sensor sticker

There have been a few Riseman mods documented. I can't find the one right now which details the replacement of the sensor sticker, but this thread could help to start with:

You could just get the more recent MIMB version which is all-black from the factory.

The Search function on vBulletin forums isn't very smart. If you want to search for a complete string in the G-Shock forum, or for posts which include multiple words, use Google, and enter site:forums.watchuseek.com/f17 into the search box. Then use normal google syntax after that to enter your search.

The GW-9200MS als has a black light-button and sensor sticker (and a black buckle on the strap):

However ist'a a limited edition and probably not easy to get (or expensive). You could go for the non-atomic G-9200MS instead.

A sticker? I just tried with the tip of my fingernail and it seems that the lettering "Sensor" is engraved in the metal.

    Re: Riseman sensor sticker

    Hey Cypher,
Thanks for letting me know that. I don't have enough fingernail to try that. I have read posts stating from other owners that it's some kind of sticker or plate that is held on by glue or two sided tape. Just wondering out loud here with asking if anyone has blacked these out and if anyone knew exactly what was under it. Either way though I find mods interesting to read and look at but unless I'm sure I wouldn't attempt myself. The extent of mods for me so far have been boiling my mudman strap and bezel. It did soften it up a bit but I wasn't really having a problem with the buttons in the first place, my intent was to soften the band. I blackened the silver ring on my mudman 5 eye and am happy with that but I wouldn't change anything on the riseman unless I was sure:)

The Riseman is too sweet for me to tamper with right now:) Awesome looking watch!

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it.

Yep, it's a thin metal plate that's glued to the bezel.
Strangely enough - the replacement bezels are sold without it.
