Question Road Trip: East Coast US - Any Suggestions?

So I decided to make an impromptu road trip down the east coast from Philly. The cold and nasty weather here lately has been wearing me down, and I need to get away somewhere warmer for a little while.

Anyone have any suggestions for places to stop by?

I'm also considering which G-Shocks to take along for the ride. I'm thinking a Gulfman, Riseman and Frogman would be good.

I'll take some photos and post some if I get anything interesting.

An alternative route to 02-03 would be driving down Delaware to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel (if the weather cooperates).

An alternative to 08 would be hopping from island to island along the Outer Banks on bridges and ferries (again if the weather cooperates).

I second these cities. If you really want to get away from the cold keep going until you get to Miami :).

Warmer Weather, Good Food and Beer?

Thanks for the suggestions. Lots of great places. I'm hoping to see something new and have some good food.

It looks like I'm taking off first thing tomorrow morning if everything works out.

Here's my current G picks for the trip:

I'm just winging it without any real itinerary at this point. From the weather reports, it looks like I need to make it all the way down to southern Florida before I'll warm up.

I think Riseman is better suited for road trips. Best and the warmest place right now might be quite the ride but nothing like Miami or Fort Lauderdale here in South Florida. Current Temperature 76F with too much Sun!

I'm headed out now. Here's what it looks like in Philly now:

I'm going to be staying pretty well connected, so keep the suggestions coming (I'm subscribed). I've got 3G devices on three different cell networks, so I can keep up with a little bit of work and watch news along the way.

    Thanks again guys.

Good luck! I like these virtual tours
The Search function on vBulletin forums isn't very smart. If you want to search for a complete string in the G-Shock forum, or for posts which include multiple words, use Google, and enter site:forums.watchuseek.com/f17 into the search box. Then use normal google syntax after that to enter your search.

That's a good plan, but I would avoid DC (except that you really can't. Maybe detour into WV?). Keep on going south man. I can recommend Coco and Melbourne Beach FL. Maybe not so expensive this time of year. Then just keep going south, take a plane ride into the Carribean and don't go back. :)

    Have fun,
    Bruce
