    Selection help & bands

Looking to get my first G-shock. It appears that most all of them have the same basic features: time keeping, alarms, stopwatch, so Iím more interested in look. Basically I want an orange face and orange band. I understand that Iíll have to get a band from another supplier. Also Iíd prefer a digital face with the basics such as time, date, and day displayed. A compass or vibrating alarm feature would be great but low priorities. Models such as the DW-5000ML, DW-5700ML, or G-2500 3V seem to be good choices.

Recommendations for others are welcome. Can the bands of the models Iíve listed be easily removed? Prefer to stay under $100 in cost.

    Hi Gbaker,

There are not many orange coloured Gs that I know of.The AWG-500BJ-4aJF is orange, comes with vibration alarm,Tough Solar,Waveceptor, etc. However,it is way out of your budget of USD100,though.It retails for USD200.

I wear G-7510 with vibration alarm, and absolutely loved it.Unfortunately,it doesn't come in orange colour.Mine is black.

Anway,I hope to see you land yourself your 1st G.

    Cheers,
    MountainMike

    Hi gbaker,

Have you considered the G-Shock G-8000 with the orange face.

    image from Casio.usa website:

Has a lot of features, very affordable and can be found at most retail shops that sell G's.

Great watch, but you wouldn't be able to fit an orange band.
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

Yes I have seen it. Just forgot to write down the model #. Now I have it - thanks.

Is there any way to find out which bands can be replaced? I mean without asking here for each and every model #? I don't care for the plastic looking bands and prefer a cloth or perhaps leather.

By using G-Shock strap adapters, many G-Shocks will accept an orange 2-buckle 24mm Zulu strap.

    Hi G-Baker,

Where are you from. Orange is our national color here

BTW, what do you think of the white creamy Mudman. It has a kind of orange display...

    Buzzbait: Thanks

Sjors: I'm in Katrina country - specifically the MS Gulfcoast. My interest in orange is mainly because I wanted a different look and I've decided to get a Rick Hinderer XM-18 custom in orange (not caring for the other options).
