    Serial number decipher on GWG1000?

Does anyone here know if there's a built in code for the serial number on a GWG1000? You know, date of manufacture, origin of build etc?

Would you by any chance know what a factory code of, "201D" signifies?

Well, you can start with what it says on the back of your watch. If "Japan" assembly, then the 201D signifies the Yamagata factory. If "Japan Mov't, Cased in Thailand," then it refers to the Thailand factory.

I've tried in the past to determine (by asking) what the "D" in "201D" means - but no luck. I have also seen 201C on case backs. My thought was that maybe it refers to a specific production line within the factory? But don't know...

I can see 'Japan' on the back - guess that clears that up. I'm old enough to remember when such expensive items had their own individual serial numbers, I suppose extreme mass production has done away with all the. Though, my inexpensive new tumble dryer still has one LOL
