    Service Manuals for G7700

Hi Guys - are there service manuals and or exploded diagrams for G's? I'm thinking that there might not be any since its so much easier for them to drop in a new module than troubleshoot the watch. I'm searching for a G7700 one.

I bought a fixer one and at first it appears to be the wrong battery. I put a fresh one in, and it works fine about 10-20 mins. All functions work, alarm works, etc. Then all of a sudden it will go into some sort of fit, the LCD shows broken images, something like a demo mode of sorts but all garbled. This goes on for about 20 seconds, then kaput. Nothing. To revive it, I have to remove the battery then reset procedure.

I'm doing an experiment now where I put the back on, but didn't screw it in. So far its been 40 mins and its still OK. I'm thinking there might be a somehting inside that's causing a short or something. It might be easier to get a new one, but I just wanted to know if there's still something I can do with this.

    Thanks for any info.

and just to make sure you have inserted the correct battery - it is a CR2025

Hey cal..45 - yeah AC reset done after battery change. A number of times, after it went dead, a quick AC reset would revive it, but same thing. Before it dies the LCD goes haywire. CR2025 is the battery I used. Thanks.

    Re: Service Manuals for G7700

All my experiments failed so far. Now, I removed the module from the case and let it sit on its own. So fas its been 30 mins and all looks good. I checked the bbezel and saw a peice of metal that looks bent. I'm hoping somebody with the 7700 can confirm, but you may need to open up your watch....too risky. Any help or reference is highly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello my friend, i dont want to missinform you but in the first photo i think that the meal piece which is bent must be put to look up (my english are not so good.

Recently i opened my casio w800h and it had 2 pieces like that looking up, i took out the module for a mod and when i reput the module in one of them fell like yours.

when i noticed this i reputed the module with the piece up and everything works ok.

sorry if i am not helping.

Probably a long shot, but you could try and replace the quartz crystal. It's the small metal cylinder. It has to have a frequency of 32.768 kHz. RS and Farnell have these for sure, or possibly Radioshack. Or you could salvage one from an other watch. All quartz watches have one.

It's about the only thing humanly possible to replace without very specialized tools.
