    For Sjors

    I did a friend a favor and he gave me a few quid for my dosh. Told me to buy some beer.

    I've never had a Trappist beer before. And Sjors collects them.... along with G-Shocks.. so I figured they must be awesome!!!!!

    Now, I live in a small community in Tennessee of about 25,000 souls. Probably no Trappist beer around here. But I knew of a wine seller who also stocked beers... so with my quid and dosh in hand I went shopping and here is what I found. Note: this is one shelf of about 10 in the back of the store.

    So, here is what I had when I got home.

    surprise surprise..... the store owner help me pick these two out. I think he said they had 6 of the 7 Trappist breweries available. He wanted to make sure I went home with triples... (?????)

    Which ones that you see on those shelves should I try next Sjors..?? anyone??? Thanks!!!!!

    Quid = £
    Dosh = money

    So a friend gave you a few pounds for your money... hope you got a good exchange rate!

    I've got an Idea......How about giving us some a breakdown of UK money? From Pound on down. Most of us probably know what a pound is, but I don't have a clue about anything Lower or higher. I'd be happy to do the same with American money.....of course ours is pretty simple, all the smaller stuff is just based off of 1 Dollar as in
    1 penney is 1/100th of 1 dollar
    .5 cents is also called a Nickel, and is 1/20 of 1 dollar
    10 cents is 1/10 or 10% of 1 Dollar
    25 cents, also called a Quarter, because of 1/4 of 1 dollar
    50 cents, also called a half dollar because it's 1/2 of 1 dollar
    Silver Dollar is a 1 dollar hard coin, which you don't see too many of any more. You also don't see very many half dollars either.
    Paper money is in denominations of
    1 dollar.....also referred to a a "buck", actually you can substitute Buck for dollar in any denomination......" It's a couple of bucks, or 50,000,000 bucks, or whatever"
    2 dollars.......you don't see these all that often
    5 dollar's
    10 dollars
    20 dollars
    50 dollars
    100 dollars
    I'm not sure if there is a 500 dollar bill or not
    1000 dollars
    Don't know if there is anything larger.......I've never seen anything else.
    Regards Sonny

    Re: For Sjors

    The largest US currency they print anymore is the $100 bill. They used to go all the way up to $10,000.

    Actually I think up to $100,000 but those were just used by banks and not in general circulation.
