Question So is the GW-M5600BC-1 out of production for good?

It seems like it has completely disappeared from anywhere that sells watches. If so, is mine a collectors item?

In my opinion what is happening is that the reverse LCD GWM5600 is a sales hit, so the first batch must be almost sold out. But it's still in production. Seiya-san is selling it:

You could always go for the Glorious Gold GWM5600.

I still can't believe the pricing at US$130 list price ... then a US eBay seller listing them with a modest discount hence selling at US$99.

Even the US$130 is a bargain!

well, i hope its not out of production. i think casio didnt know the bracelet and reverse display combo is such a great hit. mayb they are still in a meeting to discuss how many more they should release.

I'm very curious about how they make decisions like this...a general idea about how Casio management works in the G-Shock area...How they decide how many basic - special - limited models they will release. Who work behind the design department ??? I would love to see something like a documentary for G-Shock with designers speaking specifically about their every day work and not about the company's philosophy...

I completely agree. It is a great price. Casio U.S., though, is selling these (and the Glorious Gold Froggie as well) in plain, non-anniversary boxes. I assume the Japanese versions have the more elaborate packaging?

Not sure on the packaging but I have one of these in transit that I bought from a seller on Ebay. The package is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday and I will post picks.

No, even the Japan market GW-M's are in non-elaborate packaging.

And I don't think they are out of production...just sold out.

Of course, there is one for sale on the sales board .
