Thanks for the replies. Good to know my choices are: expensive, more expensive, and most expensive :p

    Re: Solar square screwback

The GW-5000, at least in my humble opinion, is definitely worth the dough, particularly with the generally lower prices. I remember when supply was scarce and they were sold for prices upwards of 400 and above. I bought mine then. :( Still, if I had to sell all my watches, mechanicals included, I'd keep just this one. Solar + Atomic in a classic G-shock screwback case = win.

If you scour watchrecon, you can find some sweet deals, like-new pieces being sold for around 250 or even lower. I look forward to seeing whether and how Casio will improve on the GW-5000 line in the near future.

Ha! You know what's funny...I saw you posted what looked like an error and before I replied I paused and thought to myself "Kung knows G-shocks *much* better than me, have I read this right?" I thought I had, but totally missed the word screwback. My bad, especially given there's lots of other non-screback solar squares!

Absolutely correct. They are common, scarce and rare. We can say GW-5000 is common, no doubt about that. But which of the other two is scarce and rare?
