Solar square w/current time in stopwatch?

It is surprising that the best place for information about features is this forum, rather than any official Casio source, but it is also gratifying and continually rewarding that so much depth of knowledge is here.

My question is whether there is a solar square, preferably also atomic, that shows current time in stopwatch mode. My W-800H does, but it would be good to find the same capability in a solar. I have some other G-Shocks that do this, but the lower profile of the square would be welcome now that summer clothing approaches. Thanks.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I was under the impression that GWX-5600 does this.

I hope you're right. I could not find it mentioned in any Amazon reviews. A search found a post here by Sedi from last year stating that the current time is displayed in countdown timer mode, but stopwatch mode was not mentioned. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks.

I'd go here and look at the manual. There ought to be a picture of the watch in stopwatch mode.

That is a very good idea, but sometimes be careful as the time maybe displayed at stopwatch mode only when it is not started yet, like G-9000.

Quite true. I was mislead exactly this way by the manual for W-S200H (module 3197) which showed the current time when stopwatch mode was entered, but then switched to duplicating the elapsed time once the stopwatch was started. I emailed Casio about this, and a conscientious sales associated inquired all the way back to Japan to confirm the design was intended that way. She could not, of course, say so, but I think she was as confused as I was trying to imagine a reason for it. I am continually amazed that a company as clever as Casio cannot (or will not) understand that people wear a watch is to know what time it is - no matter what else the watch may be showing.

Based on my experience, I hardly believe this :)

Confirming the GWX-5600 is your solution.

    STW mode

    CDT mode
