    Some cool custom art G-Shocks

G-Shock Russia just shared this, I thought some of those look pretty cool.. what you think? would you wear any of them? or have you tried doing stuff like this to your watches?

I would like to see some artist collabs who can come up with stuff like this.. we need less street clothing brand collabs & more artistic stuff where they actually put some effort into it. am still waiting for a 2nd collab with Parra.

Nice! I wonder what paint/pens they used? Would it wear off eventually?

Most were a bit to "girly" for me but I did like this one the best:

the paint pen in the image in the link looks like a posca. one of my fave paint pens, some real nice colours too

the paint on the white 6900 ss posted here looks more like standard waterbased acrylic paint, watered down alot

most of them look more like freestyle doodling (hehe doodle) than anything purposeful.

my fave is the last one, great details and shading in the design.

these all look like for soem art exhibition so def. no thought in mind of wearing them. most of that would come off after a few wears. the poscas dry quite hard and brittle if not on a porous or textured surface, but as a display piece you could clear coat it and it would look great

As a designer, watches like this makes me shake my head in disappointment. As a branding specialist, I afraid it's what sells these days.

This piece looks pretty cool, I recall a collab piece with similar porcelain painting design, only less elaborate.

    why the disappointment?
granted its not my favourite design but i still like it and its def. far from the worse. its a huge nod to the designs of the late 90s for something that has to serve both form and function and i think theyve done pretty well. with this particular collab i doubt huf came up with the idea themselves to etch the band, casio prob presented a bunch of diff. things theyve trialed and huf went with that one but again as a design i dont think its that bad, pretty cool actually it gives a stand out look and texture while still keeping it a bit stealthy and practical. its also ambiguous enough to look like anything from its supposed "cracked concrete" to tire tread.

I like the idea and I would wear this one:

Many of them are too girly for my wrist, anyway. Also they are nice works, but that kind of color wouldn't last long if you wear the watch, so they are only suitable as prototypes...

Watches are fun IF you don't take them seriously.
Too many watches for my signature... this is my SOTC thread on f71
