So my wife runs with two local groups one of them being Soul Runners. Today was the Christmas breakfast run. Small run, all fun, everyone brings food. Up in Kailua, Hi.
What was fun was it was a trail a lot of us hadn't done before (i went to hike it while most ran) called "Pillbox". Funny name. Even at the trailhead:
Some of the people brought weights along so they could go our pace, like Mark:
Further up the trail i figured out the reason for the name you can see it at the top:
The views were beautiful. Mauka (mountain side of trail):
And Makai (ocean side of trail)
The pillbox was decorated recently!
It turns out we were meeting at the upper pillbox.
Over 20 people showed up and it was a lot of fun. Notice the Santa hats.
I wore my Army King for the hike. More fitting than i realized.
Having said that, the bulk of the trail runners wore Timex with a couple of Garmins for good measure. I did spot one men in purple g9000 but he didn't seem that interested in talking G-shocks.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Our next thing on the list today is to get a Christmas Tree.
