Sticky button on gwf 1000 bs

The log data button on my froggie is sticking. It still works, but it isn't as springy as the others. I've had the plastic shroud off and soaked and given it a bit of a gentle rub with an old tooth brush. Still the same.

    Any ideas?

I'm UK based and happy to send off to Casio to repair, as it's a bit annoying, even though it still works. I assume itll be a few quid. I've had the watch for 6 years I guess.

But if someone says it's a doddle to fix, even if I have to open the case, I'm happy to follow some instructions.

    Any help appreciated.

How inclined are you to cracking that screwback open? I had this on my gw5000. Not really sure what happened but I pushed it out from the inside applied a little silicone grease and put it back in. Good as new. It was actually quite difficult to push out. Not sure if some funk had built up or what. I never saw anything that seemed to cause it.

Guess I'm happy to give it a shot. Is there a guide and a pointer to the tool that I would use?

I'm guessing the seal would still be ok once screwed back. Apparently they are pretty hard wearing.

To be clear it pushes in a bit, I wondered if the spring was knackered on the outside. But perhaps it isn't but isn't strong enough to push out because it's jamming from the inside as you say.

I'm very sorry to tell you this, but your watch is hopelessly broken. There is absolutely no fix for your problem. I'm happy to take if off of your hands, however.

Re: Sticky button on gwf 1000 bs

how often do you use the log button? im guessing not very often. the sticking is on the button gaskets inside of the case so no amount of exterior cleaning is going to make a difference. you could open it up and grease it or you could just press the button a bunch of times every couple hours to soften the spring and to shift some of the factory grease around. def. dont waste time and money getting it looked at.

...oh i mean, its junk now. when one button fails its like a domino effect, the rest will soon follow suite, better give it to t4pn and spare the heartache. or if youre closer to me, you can send it my way, i'll even pay for the postage

    Haha.

Ok, I'll go with not bothering. You're right, log button doesn't get much action.

Must say I do love this froggie, it really looks smart. 6 years old now.
