straight out of the box - GW-2000BD-1AER

just out of the box, my new GW-2000BD-1AER.
ordered on saturday from tiktox, delivery today.

the bracelet is still wrapped in plastic, i'm taking it to a dealer this afternoon to get it sized (no tools around and no talent whatsoever to deal with parts this small), but it looks very cool, and all the functions seem to be working fine. my main issue will be settled tonight, when i check if the lume makes it thru the night, or if this is not the one that finally does that.

feels heavy and tough, i can't wait to have it on my wrist...

(i'm also glad i took the tiktox road. browsing the forum a lot, i saw a number of references and decided to order from them. great speedy service from keith (working on sundays!), and not having to deal with customs and their charges and delays is a big plus for us european watch fans)

I'm looking forward to your first impressions and comment about its lume, I'm always interested to see as many opinions as possible, about that crucial subject.

Great catch really like the looks of this G. I think this might be one of the best lumes for casio but Idont believe it will last through the night. I think it would be great if it lasted 4 hours. Ill be waiting as others to find out how long it does last

    Congratulations!

I've decided this will be my next G-Shock. I'm on the fence, though, whether or not to get the version with the metal bracelet. I'd appreciate any thoughts you might have on the quality of the bracelet, comfort etc.

    Thanks.

Hi! I'm new to the forum, but have quite a few Gs and several other bits and pieces too!
I recently bought the GW-2000-1AER‏ and love it (24hr countdown timer is particularly cool with the full second hand moving anti-clockwise).
Like many others, I was wondering about the lume on this watch and was very pleasantly surprised as it turns out.
So, what's it like you ask? Well, admittedly I sleep in a very dark room, but I have no problem whatsoever reading the time on this watch after a full 8 hours in darkness. It's no Seiko Monster, but it's lume is certainly above average in my opinion.
Looks like Casio finally came up with the goods at long last. Phew!

    hi,

judging by your signature you seem not to have a casio watch with a bracelet yet. well, i can't tell about the GW-2000 series but I got right now six casios (soon seven) with bracelets and i can say they all wear from very good to extremely comfortable. besides the very comfortable resin strap models G-7710 series and GW-810 series, i would say a bracelet is almost always preferable.
