    Success, hooray

I wore my new GWM5610-1 to bed last night and woke up at 0430 to see a RCVD on the screen. I am a happy camper.
Will the RCVD stay on the screen all the time now?

The RCVD stays there for around 24 hours, until next night. Atomic watches make automatic sync with the tower every night from 00:00 to 5:00.

So if tonight you sleep in a bunker or somewhere where you can't get signal, the RVCD will dissapear, because it couldn't sync that night. But then you can manually sync it in the morning if you want RCVD on LCD

    FYI,

Manually syncing a watch during daylight hours is usually not successful due to atmospheric conditions. One day or even a week of not syncing is not going to cause the watch to be off by more than a second or two at the most. I would just let it sync when it does and not worry about it of it does not.

    Congratulations on your successful synch!

As Rocat said, since you live so far away from the signal that you were having trouble getting the watch to synch at night, it's probably going to be almost impossible to get it to synch during the day.

Just enjoy the tiny "RCVD" on the display until midnight, and hopefully it will reappear in the morning!

to ensure that it does sync, make sure you have it on the time function as opposed to stopwatch or timer. I believe having it on alarm will also allow it to sync.

I knew there were two places to calibrate, but got the 2nd one wrong. Thanks for the clarification.

I'm confused, I thought it did sync because the RCVD was on the screen. Like I said I wore the watch all night and my bed is facing west. So if it doesn't sync tonight the RCVD will be gone tomorrow morning.

You are correct: it DID synch, that's why the "RCVD" appeared.

In order of the posts above:

The "RCVD" should have stayed on the screen all day. It will disappear at midnight tonight, and REAPPEAR if it synchs successfully again tonight.

Per Crater's post, IF you sleep in a bunker or somewhere where the watch cannot receive the signal tonight, the "RCVD" will not be there in the morning.

Despite Crater's post, Rocat and I agree that IF (for some reason) your watch doesn't receive tonight, you probably WON'T be able to force a "manual synch" on Thursday morning since you live so far away from the signal's origin in Ft. Collins, CO. (You have had trouble in the past getting it to synch at night + most people have much worse signal reception during daylight hours = two known problems probably aren't going to result in a miracle.)

In order to help it synch tonight, make sure that the watch is in "normal, timekeeping mode" or "world time mode" before going to sleep. If it's in alarm mode, countdown mode or stopwatch mode, it won't even attempt to synch.

    Re: Success, hooray

Thanks for all the help. Never had a problem to sync, the first night worked and last night it worked again, I've only had her the two nights . I just wasn't sure about the RCVD staying on the screen.
    I don't think I'll have a problem.
This watch is really the "Cats meow".
