A sudden longing for the classic DW-5600E

I was checking out this interview with Kikuo and read that one of his favorite watches is the DW-5600E, because "this watch is the closest to the design and feel of the very first G-Shock watch (DW-5000) that I came up with, so it is of sentimental value to me".

I've come across many DW-5600s / G-5600s and have even tried on a few but I've never pulled the trigger - they were either too plain or too small. Somehow after reading the article, I feel a sudden urge to go out and get one!

I'm leaning towards a DW-5600E-9 because I like the gold tone print and gold tint display, but I kinda like the old school original look of the DW5000C with the red band around the face. Apart from the 25th and 30th anniversary tribute models, are there any other models that resemble the DW-5000C?

    Thanks!

Not a DW5600 but a a 'regular ' Casio DW340. When it is googled, it comes up as a 300m model! Mine was found used with the 200m on the bezel...very strange. But this is a nice alternative to the iconic DW5600E (which I used to have)....

There is a GW-M5600 and GW-M5610, both have old school style straps and red line on the dial.

They are both tough solar and atomic, not simple battery style like DW-5000C. And they are not screwback...

The 5610 looks a lot like the classic DW-5600:

The GB-5600 is influenced by the 5000 too:

My DW-5600EG arrived two days ago. Love it to bits! It's simplicity to perfection. I like it so much that I'm considering not bothering with a DW-5030C, since they're so similar in colour and what they offer. Infact the only reason I wouldn't choose the DW-5600EG as a one and only G-Shock to keep is that it's not Tough Solar! Otherwise perfect :-D

    Go with the DW-5600E... Casio refers it as the G-shock " Origin Model 3 " . I love mine a lot !!!
