Is there a better GShock? (a totally biased GW50001jf non review)

A few months back, I felt like I wanted a Square GShock to replace the DW5600 that my GF borrowed permanently.
Several here recommended the most hallowed GW50001jf. Known as the Grail amongst Gs.

it was a bit pricey for a Square G but whatever...might as well save money by getting the best.

4 months later...I've forsaken all my other GShock watches. They don't feel as comfortable, harder to read, less fun to wear.
Even my brother's MTG felt so heavy.

My daily wearer, was a Nomos Club; it has now been relegated to dressy duties and I've been wearing the GW50001jf daily.

Is there a better GShock out there? Do I even want to know?

The GW5000's charm hasn't been lost on me either chuasam. I wear mine 2-3 times a month and I'm still impressed every time I put it on.

It's one of the best, I'm a huge square fan. I love mine. I just wish the buttons were easier to depress.

The GW 5000 is a fine Watch, but there are many fine G Shock Watches as well...

That extra soft strap and smooth dlc back is worth it

If it had sapphire crystal, it would have been perfect, i probably would have bought it instead of the Frogman, only because it's lighter.
Anyways.. Does it have a better display (sharper?) than the GWM5610?
Do you feel it's worth the cost over GWM5610?
    Thanks.

I wish it was't smooth cause it creates a suctioning effect when sweating.

It's the exact display as the GW-M5610. If you prefer a completely steel case then yes it's worth it. If you prefer it to be lighter then the GW-M5610 would be better.

    From Wornandwound

"For the exact opposite of value, but for true excessive watch nerd pleasure, I’ll introduce the Japan-only GW-5000, which is a modern tribute to the very first G-Shock model, the DW5000, which came to market in 1983.

The $325 GW-5000 looks like any $40 “square” G you can buy at Wal-Mart, and that’s its beauty. Only the wearer knows it has a metal case, a DLC’d screwdown caseback, solar and atomic features and a softer resin case and band.

    Is it overpriced? Of course.
Is it awesome in its ridiculousness? Of course.

Non-watch people will think you are an idiot for paying over $300 for a plain G-Shock that you have to order from Japan. But that’s why they are non-watch people."

    GW-5000 DLC
