Is there a G Shock that has this function..

That you can stand at a place, press a button and have it locate you. Then later if you get lost it can give you directions back to that point via arrows, and maybe even include distance too?

Not that I'm aware of. I'm guessing that Suunto has wristop computers that will do something similar (route planning anyway).

The closest thing I've seen is the Bushnell BackTrack: http://www.heinnie.com/product.asp?s...ID=0&P_ID=4493

    No, there is not GPS-G.
Casio made GPS-watches in the Protrek range, but im not shure what navigation features are included.

That's a shame :( Would really appreciate a feature like that on a watch..

That Bushnell Backtrack looks great though, thanks for sharing, especially if it's small, going to check availability in the UK..

Heinnie are based in the UK as far as I know. I've ordered a couple of Gerber knives and tools from them and they're usually pretty quick.

Terrible prices on Casio products though!

I hear that GPS chews through battery life much, much too fast for a watch. Unless we want to go down the phone route of charging your watch every night!

@ JA - How many GPS operations does yours last on the same battery or charge?

For about $1.50, one could buy a loaf of bread and leave crumbs to find one's way back to original location.

You're right, it ain't cheap! But it is a GPS on a watch so it is worth the money if you're serious about cutting down on pack weight. At that price you can go for a Garmin GPS unit with walkie talkie.. hmms

The Risemen send and receive signals, as long as the watch is Atomic and it gets plenty of light exposure it should be doable (please casio!)
