    Is there a LARGER 5600?

    Hey Everyone,

    Forum Newbie here

I just picked up a GW-5600J and LOVE it. I haven't had a G-Shock (let alone a digital watch) for a very very long time.

My question for y'all is... does a "larger" variation exist? I'm kinda used to watches that have a bit more presence on the wrist and this 5600 seems a tad small in comparison.

I'm talking about case diameter and strap width here.

Is there a model that is the same style as the 5600 series... but has a 44-46mm case diameter... and a wider strap? Or is there maybe a strap from another series that will fit on the 5600J that doesn't taper to such a thin width?

Sorry for all of the questions... but I know from the minimal searching on the forums that there is a lot of customization one can do to a watch.

Anyway, thanks in advance to everyone. And don't get me wrong... I do love my 5600J... everything about it. I just wish it were slightly bigger in case diameter and band width.

    :thanks

    Hanwei

You might want to look at the GXW-56. Perhaps its size would be more to your liking.

    Hey Pete,

Wow... that thing is a beast! It might be a bit TOO big

    Is there something in between?

I'm definitely a fan of the square case though.

If you don't mind vintage, you should look for a DW-5300 or a DW-6800. Both are slightly larger than the 5600 and a lot smaller than the GXW56.

Thanks for your quick responses Pete!

Size-wise... the 5300 and 6800 look just about perfect. Do updated versions of these models exist that have Atomic and Solar?

After some researching.... it looks like Creationwatches.com or Amazon.jp... or global Ebay are the only places to pick one of these up?

Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks guys!

I haven't seen a faked one. Go for whichever seller looks competitive and reliable
The Search function on vBulletin forums isn't very smart. If you want to search for a complete string in the G-Shock forum, or for posts which include multiple words, use Google, and enter site:forums.watchuseek.com/f17 into the search box. Then use normal google syntax after that to enter your search.

I believe there is a very good condition GW-5500-1JF in the Sales Corner right now, unless it was just recently sold.
