Is there a situation where a GShock is completely inappropriate?

I love water...I like splashing in the swimming pool, I love water parks. I like snorkelling but I don't actually go SCUBA or SSD.

I was looking at getting a dive watch nevertheless. A Baby Tuna or a Samurai...then I realised...do I really need a dive watch? What can they do for me that I can't easily do with a GShock (and I'm not even talking about a Frogman).

I got around to thinking: is there a situation where a GShock is completely inappropriate? A Wedding? I counted a few digital casio watches at my brother's wedding. Even more Apple Watches. The Groom himself was wearing a TAG Heuer Aquaracer Caliber 16.

Is there an actual situation where wearing a GShock would a faux pas non pareil?

    Near an MRI machine?

There's G's for every situation. Some that are black and a low profile would not be totally out of place even at a wedding. They wouldn't look as nice as a dress watch in the circumstance but it'll pass.

I wouldn't wear a bright red, white, blue or yellow g shock to a wedding though

Nope. If your at an event and someone comments on your G-Shock being inappropriate, then you should leave. Because it sounds like a $#!% event. Or punch whoever said it. Even if it's your grandma.

Mmmmmm.. Perhaps a really formal event where a tux is required? That is, if you don't have enough status in the event to get away with it.

Or a meeting of high end watch collectors?

That said, an all black G-Shock should be compatible with just about any situation. Bright yellow or pink might turn some heads.

I personally wouldn’t wear one on a suit.

I personally wouldn’t wear my pink and purple G-Shocks with a suit. But I *could* wear something like a DW5600C or GW5000 or even better, a MRG, with a suit.

I had worn a Rolex Sub on NATO strap with suit to a wedding before. And honestly, nobody cared ... LOL (It was for a cowork from my wife's company, so I didn't know anybody there anyway :p )

But I imagine high heat situation would something I would avoid, but I have not melt a G-Shock before and I would like to keep it that way. :)

Other than what Spirit said about an MRI for ana/digi’s, there is no such situation. There is one for black tie as well as for scuba. All a matter of choice and taste which is in the eye of the beholder. I might like my choice in necktie, and you might not.

Even for high level business meeting, I would say that they convey a sense of modesty. Especially if it’s a square. Of course the person sitting on the other side of you probably won’t know that it’s a $300 screwback all metal cased watch.

I’ve seen directors of companies wear their Apple Watches so there!
