Is there such a function in G Shocks?

    Hi,

Am looking for a Casio G-Shock with this function, if it exists:

Say it is 3:12pm now and I want to do a count down to my target time of 4:51pm. Instead of doing the maths and inputting it to the count down timer, is there a function whereby I can simply input my target time of 4:51pm onto the watch?

Is this what the target timer does? If so, which model in the Casio G-shock range has this function? the 6600 series?

    Can someone pls advise me.

    Many thanks.

    Yep, DW-6600 has it.

Here's the manual which shows you how to work it:

I may be wrong but I think even with target time, you would still have to do the math. When enabled the target time function causes the running stopwatch to beep at a time increment you've entered. If it's 3:12pm and you want the watch to beep at 4:51pm you will have to know how many minutes between 3:12 and 4:51 and enter that number.

I think the G-2500 series does this as well.

The G-2500 counts down in days, but that's all.
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

    Yes, it's called "alarm".
Only atomic clocks tell you what time it is - all others try to do so.

    Keep it simple, stupid.

I had the same knee-jerk reaction.

What you're looking for is a combination of alarm and countdown - but I don't think it exists - at least I never heard of it. I had this function once on a Nokia cell phone - when you put in an alarm time it also told you how much hours and minutes were still left till the alarm time - but it didn't do a real countdown till that time, only showed it while programming the alarm.

Nope its not an alarm that I am looking for. After setting an alarm it does not tell you how many minutes or hours left to the target time. I am looking for a function that will countdown and tell me how many minutes/hours left to my target time w/o me having to do the maths.

    Hi Maine,

    Many thanks for the info.

Can I double check with you. When I input the target time's hours, minutes and seconds, it is the target time that I am trying to hit i.e in my example it would be 4:51pm and not the difference between the current time and the target time. I do NOT need to do the maths right? Or do I still need to the do the maths, 4:51 minus 3:12 in my example?
