Question Is there a way to revive an LCD display ?

Is there a way to revive an LCD display

I have a Casio ABX 70 watch (like the one below) whose LCD became very faint recently.
I changed batteries to rule out weak batteries as the culprits.

Is there a way to get the LCD back to it's previous brightness ?
    Currently it's so faint - it's useless.

    Hi,

I recall seeing a post on the forum (see below) that it is the polarizing plastic layer on the lcd itself that gets degraded from UV light over time. The suggestion was that all one had to do was to replace this polarizing layer and the lcd would be as good as new.

I have never tried this myself - perhaps another forum member has tried this and could report back results...
